I actually gassed for the older San Dimas guitars because they had the LP switch.įor the Charvel partscaster I did, I actually wanted to do a San Dimas, but getting a San Dimas body aftermarket made no sense to me, because I had no use for the switch slice-so I went with a So-Cal. I think the LP style fits the Charvel brand better. On the San Dimas, I think for one thing Charvel should go back to the Les Paul style switch and move away from the Strat blade style switch. The Pro Mods are great and I am happy with mine and really dont need more but its for that player that just wants a little bit more. Just push the San Dimas too the limit you know and into overdrive as much as possible but keeping that straty type feel as much as possible too. Hell maybe even incorporate a 5 way switch to the push pull function and make a "10 pack of tone". Locking nut and Gotoh locking tuners stuff like that that just special and overkill almost.Īll the stuff the regular San Dimas Pro-Mod comes with but with just a little bit more. What would you add to the San Dimas Pro-Mod design to make it more awesome?!?!Ĭlick to expand.Yeah adding baked maple and scalloped heel would be cool but maybe a more than average scallop in the front bottom horn, maybe the upper one too or a model with an Evertune on top of that.Įveryone seems to be doing the JB+59 thing and I love it but how about maybe a Pearly Gates Plus in the Bridge and Regular Pearly Gates in the neck or an Invader in the Bridge and a Duncan Sentient in the neck, something special not done too often that really sets it apart aside from the specs. I mean FMIC owns both Fender and Charvel so it shouldnt be too hard. or other rare colors FMIC uses like Texas Tea or a LPB for Charvel models too. Love mine as is.but a few friends who own some current productions seem to think it would be nice to include additional features if at all possible?!?!?Īlso maybe offer some faded colors or sunburst colors like the FMIC Ultras. That would be a nice touch up and change on a San Dimas Pro-Mod no!?!?!? Same size and same smooth corners/edges as a regular San Dimas Pro-Mod but with a few extra touches. With killer Duncans off the wall like they do with their regular San Dimas Pro-Mods but with additional features as mentioned. and the rest of the touches they already sport like 12-16 radius fretboard with rolled fingerboard, dual graphite rods in the neck with truss rod at the heel.Six pack of Tone. Include scalloped heel.maybe a scalloped lower horn for easier upper fret access. Wouldn't it be cool if Charvel San Dimas Pro-Mods offered a baked maple neck on baked maple board or ebony board as an option.
